For centuries, the Vipava Valley in western Slovenia has lived from and for its vines. Wine growing here is not a revival — it is a legacy. Deeply rooted in tradition, yet driven today by a new generation of ambitious winemakers gaining international recognition.

Vipava’s true strength lies in its diversity.

Alongside international varieties, the valley preserves rare indigenous grapes:

• Zelen — crisp, vibrant, and beautifully fresh.

• Pinela — an ancient local variety with layered fruit and subtle spice.

• Klarnica — a revived boutique grape, rare and characterful.

And then the classics, reinterpreted through Vipava’s terroir:

• Barbera — with vivid acidity and dark cherry lift.
